❇️ Typesense, open source alternative to Algolia
Typesense is the free, open-source search engine for forward-looking devs. Make it easy on people: Tpyos? Typesense knows we mean typos, and they happen. With ML-powered typo tolerance and semantic search, Typesense helps your customers find what they’re looking for—fast.
📰 Linux and Open Source News
As things are taking shape, Flathub LLC is expected to become a reality soon, with paid apps and easy donation options being introduced to the platform.
🧠 What We’re Thinking About
Mozilla now has a fresh brand identity, with claims that they are laying the foundation for the next 25 years. I wonder whether this is a make-or-break situation for the outfit.
And something to ponder about Mint’s cautious but consistent approach to the user experience.
🧮 Linux Tips, Tutorials and More
Here are a few open source tools that are available on Windows but not on Linux.
👷 Maker’s and AI Corner
If you cannot play those high-end games directly, you could stream it using Raspberry Pi.
I also stumbled across a self-hosted alternative project to Google Location History.

✨ Apps of the Week
RSS Guard is the latest App Of The Week. It is a reliable feed reader app for Linux that supports RSS, RDF, Atom, and JSON.
You can complement that with Linkora on your Android smartphone. It is a link utility app that lets you store and manage all your links from the same place.
🧩 Quiz Time
A trivia quiz on Linux gaming this time around. Can you beat ’em all?
💡 Quick Handy Tip
In KDE Konsole, you can adjust the number of Scrollback lines dynamically. To achieve that, first right-click on an empty place and select “Adjust Scrollback…”.
Now, enter a value for the desired number of Scrollback lines by choosing the “Fixed size:” option and click on “OK”.
Remember, this is temporary and only affects the current session. Furthermore, having a huge number of Scrollback lines might cause performance issues, since all of this is stored in the RAM.
🤣 Meme of the Week
Sums up the Vim exiting experience. The Spotify playlist for those interested. 😆
🗓️ Tech Trivia
Ada Lovelace, born on December 10, 1815, as the daughter of poet Lord Byron, was a 19th-century mathematician who worked with Charles Babbage on the Analytical Engine, writing what is considered the first computer program. Honoring her legacy, the ADA programming language, based on Pascal, was developed in the 1970s for readability and maintainability.
🧑🤝🧑 FOSSverse Corner
One of our regular FOSSers is looking for some pointers regarding suspend on laptop.
I am planning to add some new features, make some changes to It’s FOSS, some small, some big. You’ll see them in ’12 days of Tuxmas’ series. Stay tuned for that 😄
